Maintenance & Refreshers

Maintenance

Maintenance lessons help students to maintain their skills and confidence throughout the year. A maintenance lesson is a single 10 minute lesson designed to get your child in the pool and keep them comfortable in the water as they grow. Children do not 'forget' how to self-rescue, but as their bodies grow and time away from the pool grows longer, confidence can waver. Taking care to schedule regular maintenance lessons is one of the most important ways to ensure that your

child's aquatic problem solving skills remain strong. For most children I recommend a minimum of 1 lesson per month.

Refresher

Refresher lessons are for children who have already completed survival lessons. As the name implies, these lessons enable the children to refresh and advance the skills that they have already learned. Students attend lessons Monday-Friday for ten minutes each day for two to three weeks.

Is your floater ready to swim?!

Once your child has been walking for a few months, they are likely ready to transition to swimming. Typically, this transition take 4-6 weeks in our 5 day per week program. If you think your child is ready: let's chat!  The great part about this transition, is they already know how to float! We will begin adding the skills of swimming under water, rotate to their backs for a float, and flipping back over to swim under water again. They'll continue this sequence until they get to safety.
